The slide may look ready to use, but unfortunately it is not. Now that the slide is in place, we can connect the plumbing, i.e., water for lubrication of the slide. To get the water to the top of the slide, we have a pump. Of course, a pump needs electricity. Everyone knows electricity and water are not safe so we cannot just run extension cords across the deck.
Between our electrician and concrete specialist, they will create an underground trench (in this case beneath the deck surface) from the power source to the slide pump. Once the Washington State electrical inspector approves the electrical service, Klickitat County Environmental Health, in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Health will complete a final inspection and the slide will be ready to use.
The removal of the old slide to the installation of the new slide was not an easy task and we thank our CKCPRD crew as well as Pioneer Surveying and Engineering for the engineering and logistical assistance by Crestline Construction.
The swimming pool will continue to operate under our spring schedule (limited hours until school is out for the summer).
There may be barricades or caution tape by the slide. We thank you for your patience and we look forward to many years of happy and safe sliding!
