Do you want to be a lifeguard in 2022? If yes, you need to take the upcoming lifeguard class!
August 2 – 5 (Monday-Thursday) 5:30pm-8pm
Per the American Red Cross there is a mandatory pre-requisite skills test that each student must pass prior to taking the lifeguard class.
- 300 yard swim (100 yds. crawl stroke, 100 yds. breast stroke, remaining 100 yds. can be either crawl or breast stroke (no swimming on your back). The swim is NOT timed, but you cannot stop for any reason.
- Tread water for two minutes with your hands out of the water
- 20 yard swim, surface dive and pick up a 10 pound brick; swim using both hands on the brick back to the start point and climb out of thepool in less than 1:40 seconds.

A portion of the class is completed online through “Blended Learning.” Please provide us with an email address and we will send you the link to the class. The online portion needs to be finished prior to the start of class on August 2, 2021.
If you want to practice for the skills test, just come to the pool during any lap swim time and a lifeguard will assist you.
